We're About to Start Seeing a Whole Lot More of Paris Jackson

The famous daughter has been cast in her first film along Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried.

Paris Jackson erupted on the scene this year after a long period of being out of the media spotlight. As the daughter of Michael Jackson, there’s no way to completely avoid public interest, but Paris mostly used social media to share her life in a fairly normal teen girl way. But now, it seems she is everywhere — this year's Met Gala included — announcing her arrival as a star in her own right by launching a modeling and acting career all at once.

Deadline reports that the famous daughter has just landed her first film role — and it’s not just some vanity production. Paris will be acting opposite the likes of Charlize Theron, Thandie Newton, and Amanda Seyfried. That's a pretty incredible jump from her debut on on an episode of Fox's Star. The untitled film is being directed by Nash Edgerton, and according to E! News, Paris will play an “edgy 20 year-old” named Penny. The plot focuses on an ordinary businessman who gets swept up in the crime world while visiting Mexico.

A source close to Paris told Deadline that acting is the career she is most interested in pursuing. “If you had to put her priorities in order, it would probably be acting, activism, and modeling," they said. "She's passionate about all of them. Her modeling career is really taking off and you can expect some big announcements coming in the next month or so."

No doubt. The biggest battle is acceptance, and as you can see, the daughter of the King of Pop is welcome everywhere—even the bathroom selfie of the year at the Met Gala.
