Peggy Tanous Thinks Alexis Bellino Still "Feels Uncomfortable" About Her Past with Jim
But the #RHOC alum isn't necessarily ruling out a future friendship.
Peggy Tanous and Alexis Bellino started off Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Orange County as practically besties. But they certainly didn't end the season that way, experiencing a huge falling out, which was only made worse by the revelation that Peggy once dated Alexis' husband Jim Bellino back in the day.
When The Daily Dish caught up with Peggy earlier this summer, she explained why she never told Alexis about her past with her husband until they were on RHOC together. "I know that toward the end of the show, she was like, 'Oh, you never told me.' And it's like, well, 'cause Jim asked me not to. So I felt like that was the way I needed to be. Like, I wanted to respect her marriage, and he's the husband, and let him, if he wants to tell her, he can tell her," she explained. "But once we're both on this reality show, he was like, 'Oh, God, I've got to tell her.'"
These days, however, Peggy said she has no beef with Alexis. "I'm on good terms with everyone. It's funny because people are like, 'Oh, Alexis is at the party, too.' I'm like, 'Yeah, I went up to her. I talked to her. Like, we're totally fine,'" Peggy said about reuniting with her former castmate at the RHOC Season 11 premiere party in June. "Are we friends? No, we're not really friends. We're just different people. We don't hang out in the same crowds anymore. But I'm fine with everybody."
Peggy said she has a feeling that Alexis does not share the same sentiment. "I think for her, it was a big blow to her to find out we had gone out," Peggy said. "Unfortunately, I don't feel like she could ever move past that. So I think we're friendly, we get along, we say hi, we're cordial, we see each other at events. And I think that's fine. But I don't think we would ever pursue a friendship because I think to her it's just a weirdness that like, 'Oh, this person used to date my husband,' even though it was a very casual dating thing, I think for her it's just a weirdness. I don't have a weirdness with it, but I think she does. I could be wrong, but that is my feeling."
For the record, Peggy said her husband Micah Tanous isn't concerned about her past fling with Jim at all. "No. He's like me. He's, like, the most secure person. He could care less," she said. "He's like, 'Hey, I'm the one that married you. I'm with you every day. Like, I could care less.'"
Though Peggy said having a relationship with Alexis in the future is unlikely, she wouldn't necessarily rule it out, either. "We're not really in the same crowds. So I don't really think that there would be a reason. It's not, like, a bad thing. But I just don't think there'd be a reason to rekindle the friendship," she said. "But if she came to me and was like, 'Hey, I really want to try and see if we could be friends again,' I don't think that would be a problem. I just don't think it would be a friendship where it would involve the husbands as well because I think [Jim] feels uncomfortable about it, and I think she feels uncomfortable about it."
