Peggy Tanous: 'Alexis Didn't Want Me on Housewives'
The newbie O.C. 'Wife didn't receive a warm welcome.
Alexis Bellino and Peggy Tanous ran in the same blondetourage for four years, but according to P, joining The Real Housewives of Orange County cast was stepping on Alexis' pedicured toes.
"We had some strain on the friendship for me getting involved with it, because at the end of the day, she really didn't want me on the show," Peggy told E! News. "I think she had even told mutual friends of ours that this was supposed to be 'her thing.' So that made it really hard to film, because I am a really strong believer in friendships."
Fair enough. Alexis, your turn.
"I [had] this sick feeling the show was going to eat us alive — tear our friendship apart," the mom of three tells E! in her defense. "I was trying to protect our friendship because to me our friendship is more important than the show... Now she's saying I didn't want to share the spotlight. I'm like, 'Girl, there's going to be six girls on the show — I'm going to have to share the spotlight.'"
Alexis makes a valid point, but no parting shot to even the playing field? "[Peggy's] changed a lot this season, to be honest with you." Ah, there it goes.
