Phaedra Parks Doesn't Remember Much from Giving Birth

That "Oh, gross" comment? Doesn't ring a bell.

By Lauren Metz

Fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta instantly became familiar with Phaedra Parks' business smarts, but her maternal side? That took some time.

When baby Ayden finally met his mama, the first thing to burst out of Phaedra's mouth was "Oh, gross!" True, her little man wasn't exactly cleaned up yet, but viewers probably expected more of a teary-eyed bonding moment.

"I was in labor for three days," the Atlanta Housewife tells TV Guide to set the record straight. "For three days I was unable to eat. Then I started having back labor, where you have lots of pain in the spinal area, so I had an epidural but they had to give me morphine too so I could tolerate all the pain. A lot of things, I don't remember. When I saw it on TV, I was like, 'Wow.' My mom said I was saying, 'I need to go jogging, I need to go exercise' — I mean, just crazy stuff. I honestly don't remember much!"

Despite all the Housewives hoopla surrounding when exactly Ayden was conceived, the first-time mommy puts it this way, "My baby is not a surprise baby. I wanted to be a mom, me and my husband wanted to have children. You know, unless it's on CNN you can't count everything you see as the truth."

And as for those, um interesting, preggers photos with pickles, Phaedra calls them "nice" but decided to purchase other photos from the same shoot – not seen on TV.
