Phaedra Parks' Ex-Husband Apollo Nida Released from Prison for the Second Time
The Real Housewives of Atlanta ex is now living at a halfway house.
Apollo Nida is out of prison once again.
Phaedra Parks' ex-husband is now living in a halfway house in Philadelphia, according to Federal Bureau of Prisons records obtained by Page Six. Apollo is now scheduled to be released from federal custody on November 26.
Apollo was released from prison and moved into a halfway house in Philadelphia in June. However, The Real Housewives of Atlanta ex found himself back in custody just days later after he had allegedly broken a technical condition of his release, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Apollo began his eight-year prison sentence for fraud and identity theft in 2014. His sentence was then reduced by one year in March 2019.
Phaedra, who reached a divorce settlement with Apollo in 2017, told DailyMailTV that their two sons, Ayden, 9, and Dylan, 6, were "sad" and "disappointed" after their dad was taken back into custody. "Apollo had been telling me that he was coming home early. I'm of the mindset, 'I'll believe it when I see it.' And so when he called us on FaceTime and he was in a car and we could see that he was outdoors and so he said, 'I've been released' and we were all excited because of course I want the boys to have a relationship with their father — and it would be great to have that support from Apollo," she said. "But of course, you know, nine days later he was rearrested."
Phaedra continued, "I was disappointed, but at the same time, I don't know if I was that shocked because he is a risk taker and I just hate it because now it's just above all of us, only Jesus can fix it. I can't make him be what he doesn't want to be. He has to want to change."
Phaedra and Apollo currently share joint legal custody of their kids, while she has primary physical custody. "My sons have been through a lot, they've seen a lot of good things, they've seen a lot of bad things and nobody's life is going to be perfect, so we're just going to continue and keep our schedules as they have been and we're going to hope and pray that Apollo can get it together," she said.
Apollo was spotted with fiancée Sherian Almufti following his release from prison in June. "To the love of my life.... When I picked you up, the FIRST thing you wanted to do, was call your children. What a beautiful thing to witness, they were sooo happy to hear from you," Sherien shared in a tribute to Apollo on Father's Day. "Baby, it takes a certain type of man to be the father figure of a child that isn’t your own. I thank you for being the best daddy #princess ever had. One day they will all be in your arms and you will NEVER let go!"
