"It costs you nothing to smile, to give someone a hug, and to be empathetic to someone," the #RHOA mom says.

Bethenny Frankel and Phaedra Parks Explain What Kindness Means to Them

When it comes to finding a way to connect with folks around you, Phaedra Parks believes it all starts with simple gestures.

"Kindness means to me recognizing that we are all different but in our differences therein lies beauty," The Real Housewives of Atlanta attorney shared with The Daily Dish recently. "It costs you nothing to smile, to give someone a hug, and to be empathetic to someone not because they ask you to, but because it's the right thing to do."

She also had this sage bit of wisdom about extending kindness in her own life. "I try to be nice because I always say, 'How would I want to be treated if I was in this circumstance?'" she shared. "So when you're standing in a place to be able to be kind and it costs you nothing, why not just do it?"

You too can #ShareKindness by taking part in TODAY's Share Kindness campaign. This year, TODAY has teamed up with Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation to launch a pop-up experience in New York City for the second year of NBCUniversal’s #ShareKindness campaign. The TODAY’s Share Kindness Experience powered by Born This Way Foundation is open from December 5 to December 23. Stop by and make sure you tag your act of kindness with #ShareKindness.
