Here's Everything You Need to Know About Porsha Williams' Fiancé, Dennis McKinley
The Real Housewives of Atlanta husband-and-father-to-be is a new face on Season 11.
It’s an exciting time for The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Porsha Williams. First, she revealed that she’s expecting a baby with partner Dennis McKinley. "It’s something we’ve both always wanted … It’s like a dream come true,” she told PEOPLE.
Porsha then announced she and Dennis are engaged, too! She wrote on Instagram: "I'm ready for the rest of our life!"
We’ll get to see their relationship play out on Season 11 of RHOA when it premieres on November 4 at 8/7c, but first we need to know more about the man in Porsha’s life. Keep reading to see everything you need to learn about Porsha's future hubby, Dennis.
1. He's a serial entrepreneur
According to Dennis' website, the self-proclaimed "serial entrepreneur" leads the Atlanta-based branding company Detroit Equities. While he currently helps entrepreneurs and small businesses build their brands through "strategic investments," some of his previous background experience also includes real estate, e-commerce, and product development. His LinkedIn profile lists him as the CEO of QueenVirginRemy.com, an online shop that distributes "imported exotic hair extensions." The page also shows that he got his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan. And when he shared a video of Porsha listening to their baby's heartbeat, he wrote, "The greatest joy! PJ heartbeat sounding like a champion! Let’s go @porsha4real if it’s a girl she going to @uofmichigan if it’s a boy he going to @uofmichigan."
2. He's a Detroit native
While Dennis' business endeavors currently have him based in Georgia, he hails from Detroit. He often posts about his hometown on Instagram, writing earlier this year, "I love my city! I always gotta make it back home to my family...if it’s me or you. It’s you! #detroit."
3. Like Porsha, this is also Dennis' first child
In an interview with PEOPLE, Porsha revealed that this is the first child for both of them. "The thought of me getting that blessing after praying for it for so long and getting that blessing with someone who is just as excited as me — it’s Dennis’ first child, just like me — and it’s something we’ve both always wanted … It’s like a dream come true," said Posha, who experienced a miscarriage six years ago.
4. He was the mastermind behind the #BabyMcKinleyPrayerParty
You might have seen on social media that Porsha and Dennis threw an extravagant "Prayer Party" for their baby, but did you know it was all his idea? Porsha shared the meaning behind the celebration on her Instagram feed. "#BabyPrayerParty Is an idea my fiancé had one morning for us to get our little village of close friends and family together to Pray for our unborn son or daughter! I thought the idea was just precious and it ended being everything we hoped it would be," she wrote. "The prayer party began with a prayer ceremony and ended with a good time with family & friends the McKinley’s way."
5. He had been planning his proposal to Porsha for two months
We already know Porsha didn't just say, "Yes;" she said, "HELL YESSSS." As it turns out, Dennis put a lot of time into planning the perfect proposal for his lady. According to a PEOPLE source, "Dennis had [a] videographer & photographer and has been working on the proposal for two months….had candles etc and rose petals everywhere." Aw!
6. He's in touch with his emotions
Porsha revealed that Dennis is an emotional guy — in fact, he might be more emotional than she is. She told PEOPLE, "I believe he’s probably shed more tears during the process than me. It’s just the sweetest moment of my life right now.” We a love a man who's not afraid to embrace his feelings!
7. Their wedding may happen sooner than you might be expecting
Depsite only recently getting engaged, it sounds like Porsha and Dennis want to get married sooner rather than later. In a teaser clip below for the upcoming season, Porsha spilled the tea on her wedding plans. "Who knows, you might even be seeing some wedding bells in my future ... but I'm not gonna tell you too much!" she revealed.
