Shamea Morton's Bridal Shower Doubles as a Reunion with Porsha Williams
Are the #RHOA pals "sisters" once again?
Shamea Morton is a little more than a month away from tying the knot to fiancé Gerald Mwangi, but her wedding festivities are very much already underway. The Real Housewives of Atlanta pal recently got all of her best girlfriends together for her bridal shower.
You know when these Georgia Peaches come together, there's always going to be tea to be sipped and spilled — and Shamea's bridal shower was no exception. In fact, the RHOA pal's fête featured a tea party theme, with everyone in their loveliest dresses and most fascinating fascinators.
Many familiar faces attended the bash, including Kandi Burruss, Carmon Cambrice, and Toya Wright. But perhaps the most surprising guest was Porsha Williams, who famously experienced some tension with Shamea last season of RHOA as rumors about her friendship with Kandi swirled.
Shamea previously told The Daily Dish in March that despite everything that went down between her and Porsha last season, she was optimistic that the two could one day restore their friendship to where it once was. "I am hopeful that we can, but at this point it’s just going to take a lot on both sides. I’m actually kind of drained and I’m tired of trying," Shamea explained. "I don’t know if we can ever get back to that place. Would I like for us to? Absolutely. I love Porsha, and I want nothing but the best for her. I just don’t know if her loyalty lies with me anymore. I’m afraid that in the future she might meet someone, a new friend, and then her loyalty would change again. It’s going to take some time."
But Shamea also told The Daily Dish earlier this spring that she couldn't imagine Porsha not being at her wedding, which will be held in Kenya on July 22. Now that Porsha has scored an invite to the bridal shower, could a wedding invitation be far behind?
It looks like Shamea's bridal shower was a drama-free affair — which is more than we can say for most RHOA events. "The outpour of love and support that I received over the weekend was overwhelming," Shamea gushed in one post on Instagram. "I feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. I am forever grateful. 39 days to go!"
So what does Shamea's fiance think of everything that went down last season of RHOA? Find out, below.
