On the January 10 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Williams sat down with her mother, Ms. Diane, and half-sister, Lauren, to discuss her past in preparation for the book she’s writing. Porsha explained the family dynamic growing up, noting, “Lauren and I are half sisters. We share the same dad. She lived with daddy, and I moreso came over on the weekends.”

Now, Lauren is opening up about her relationship with her mother, Lisa. Lauren took to Instagram to share a heartwarming throwback photo with Lisa and her daughter, Baleigh.

“She likes to stay behind the scenes but she’s my whole heart so I get to talk her up even though she might make me take this down,” Lauren said of her mom in the caption. “My parents got married and had me in ’88. We still live in the same house we lived in 32 years ago. Newly widowed, she took over the chemical business they had run together and worked hard to make sure nothing in my life changed.”

“Consistency was her goal for my life since her childhood didn’t provide much at all. She completely sacrificed herself to keep me in Woodward. Unlike me as a single mom, she resigned herself to working and Momming. Now as a mom, I realize how much she gave up just for me,” Lauren continued. “I don’t talk about her much on social media, but since I did on the show, I wanted to give a little insight into why I’m obsessed with her.”

Lauren went on to list her mother’s very best qualities, writing: “She is the reason I’m empathetic, intelligent, and compassionate. I love that our moms encouraged Porsha and I to be close even after our dad passed! I know that doesn’t happen in every family so I’m very thankful for this strong women in my life. Love u guys! Thanks for creating my support system.”

Lauren also joked that followers who have been following her since 2016 might recognize the throwback photo, pointing out that Baleigh’s hand down her shirt in the family snap is a habit her daughter has continued years later. “Now she’s 5 and yes, she still puts her hand in my shirt,” she wrote.
