Porsha Williams' Sister Lauren Opens up About Bringing Her Daughter to Protest
The RHOA family attended the Say Her Name March in Atlanta.
Porsha Williams has been a strong voice in support of the Black Lives Matter movement throughout the recent protests in Atlanta, and her sister, Lauren, is right by her side. The Real Housewives of Atlanta sister opened up about her decision to attend a protest with her daughter, Baleigh, in a powerful June 8 Instagram post.
“Do as I say…AND AS I DO. #mombyexample,” wrote Lauren. “Was I worried? Hell yes! Was it maybe a tad overwhelming for her? Yes. Did I time our involvement to her attention span and have a ride waiting for us at the end just in case? Yes. Would I have ever wanted to let her miss witnessing those Black women leading that march for her future? Nah.”
Lauren then thanked Porsha for bringing their friends together to make their voices heard.
“Thank you to the organizers. I will find their names and tag. Thank you to @porsha4real for leading our friend group to and through this movement,” Lauren added. “We hear you, we love you, we need you, we thank you!”
Lauren shared another photo from the Say Her Name March, which was held in honor of the Black women who have been killed, including Breonna Taylor, who died on March 13 after being shot by Louisville police in her own apartment.
“It’s not a race but we WILL WIN!” Lauren captioned a photo from the protest.
On June 4, Lauren noted that her new man was participating in the protests, as well. She posted a photo of the pair marching alongside one another, carrying signs that said “EVERYONE VS RACISM” and “Silence = violence.”
“I always wished to find a partner who shared my same taste in music…well I think I got something way better. We have the same heart,” she wrote.
