Basically Every Celebrity Celebrated President Obama's Birthday at the White House
Al Roker, Nick Jonas, Usher, Ellen DeGeneres, and more stars were on hand to toast POTUS on his 55th birthday.
What happens at the White House doesn't stay at the White House. When President Obama celebrated his 55th birthday on Friday (one day after his actual birthday, August 4), some of the biggest celebrities on the planet gathered to celebrate. And we mean big.
The night's guest list included names from all walks of life, including music, sports, and politics. According to the New York Times (and social media), Ellen DeGeneres, Samuel L. Jackson, Common, George Lucas, Nick Jonas, Magic Johnson, and Reverend Al Sharpton were present. Performers included Usher and Stevie Wonder. Al Roker and Nick Jonas also posted updates from the event. So, basically, it was the best party ever.
Prior to the event, Page Six reported that Beyoncé, Jay Z, John Legend, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kendrick Lamar, and Jason Wu had also made the guest list alongside Hillary Clinton, Vice President/best friend Joe Biden (who threw Obama an impromptu celebration with some cupcakes prior to the big party), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Attorney General Loretta Lynch, but those names have yet to be confirmed. "The First Lady is hosting a 55th birthday celebration for the President at the White House," a rep for the White House told People in a statement on Friday. "The guest list includes a large number of family members and friends to mark the occasion."
And while there are no photos of Mr. and Mrs. Obama from the bash, we imagine they looked nothing short of glamorous.
