Elaine Welteroth Is "In Awe" After Sharing a Major Career Update

You’re about to see a lot more of Elaine Welteroth. The Project Runway judge recently took to Instagram to share an incredibly exciting career update. 

“OMG MOM I GOT THE JOB @thetalkcbs,” Elaine announced in a December 2 Instagram post. “Sooo, I guess I’ll be seeing you guys in your homes on national freaking television EVERY DAY!! Not quite the announcement my mom was expecting but she’s thrilled (swipe to see what I mean.)” 

In the third slide of Elaine’s post, she included a heartwarming video of the moment she shared the news with her mom over a video chat. Although her mother was super excited to hear that she’s now a host of The Talk, she originally thought Elaine was calling with baby news. 

“This is unequivocally, one hundred percent a God Thing and there is no other way to put it. Landed in LA less than a month ago for more life and got blessed with the kind of divine assignment I never saw coming!” Elaine continued. “And yet, the minute I sat down next to these incredibly warm, dynamic women @sharonosbourne, @sherylunderwood @carrieanninaba, @therealeve who welcomed me in and let me learn from them, I knew there was something special brewing. I can’t eve express how humbled, how in awe, how excited, and how much JOY I feel to have the opportunity to join them EVERY DAY on a platform that reaches outside of my own echo chamber and into the hearts and minds of households all across this country, a platform that cultivates connection, kindness, and understanding in a singular moment in our world when we need it most. This is a dream job I never saw coming, but I’m so beyond grateful it’s here.” 

Elaine also expressed her excitement to highlight her favorite Black fashion designers, adding, “Looking forward to bringing more head-to-toe Black designer moments to daytime TV. LET’S GOO!!”
