Rachel Zoe Details the Ski Lift Fall that Left Her Son Hospitalized
The stylist and former Bravo star calls Skyler "the bravest boy I’ve ever known."
Rachel Zoe took to Instagram Stories this week to open up about the ski lift fall that left her 9-year-old son Skyler hospitalized. Rachel shared that her son is “the bravest boy I’ve ever known” following the incident, which took place in Colorado.
“Sky fell 40 feet from a chair [lift] yesterday which could have been easily prevented if the operator had stopped the lift when he saw Sky wasn’t on from the start and [my husband Rodger Berman] screaming to stop the lift,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. She added that "needless to say by a miracle and the Ski patrol heroes who quickly put a mat under where they thought he would fall ultimately saved his life or from what could have happened."
Rachel also included an update on her son's condition: “Sky is in great spirits but sore and banged up a bit otherwise a brave champion. Mom and Dad scarred for life.”
Rachel shared a video of her son, who said, “I’m just a little sore, I’m kind of hurting, but I’m fine.”
She noted that the couple is “shattered and numb" following the incident. She added, “[Rodger] and I have never been more grateful for seeing your child so the most simple tasks of walking talking and laughing…truth be told Sky was more brave than either of us and we continue to just kiss, [bug] and simply stare at him until further notice...hug your babies extra from us today.”
Rachel and Rodger have been married since 1998. They are parents to Skyler, as well a 7-year-old son Kaius.
Rachel starred on The Rachel Zoe Project for five seasons on Bravo.
