The Manhattan mom recently told E! News that she began feeling sick around Valentine’s Day and decided to see a specialist, per a friend’s recommendation. After receiving the Lyme disease diagnosis, she began taking an antibiotic and will return to the doctor for retesting in a month.

Ramona also revealed that she believes she contracted the illness from an undetected tick bite while spending time at her Hamptons home. “You must get tested once a year, especially if you're in an area where there are deer," she said. "But we caught it early and I'm very lucky and very blessed."

Ramona isn’t the first person in her family to face a Lyme disease diagnosis. In 2018, she revealed that her sister had also battled the illness. “It’s just a really scary disease and it’s not black-and-white,” Ramona said at the time.

Fellow Bravoleb Yolanda Hadid has also chronicled her ups and downs with the disease throughout several seasons of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and released a memoir about her journey, Believe Me: My Battle with the Invisible Disability of Lyme Diseasein 2017.
