Ramona Singer, Justice League Member?!
The Real Housewife of NYC helps a friend nab a thieving nanny.
The Real Housewives of New York City veteran Ramona Singer may be a pro when it comes to the business of slinging pinot grigio, but from the looks of it, she could easily trade in wine for a NYPD badge.
Ramona recently helped her friend nab a nanny with sticky fingers who had swiped goods from her employer’s family’s home.
Lucia Hwong Gordon, a New York philanthropist and composer, headed out of town on vacation with her family last month. But upon her return, Lucia realized a few of her prized possessions had gone missing.
She told the New York Post that items like a diamond-and-ruby necklace, her kids’ baptismal jewelry and “family heirloom silver,” had disappeared.
When Lucia asked her nanny, Raquel Santos, if she had any idea where the goods had gone, she broke down from guilt and “started crying.” She then handed over slips from the pawn shop where she had sold the goods.
Raquel and Lucia returned to the pawn shops together to retrieve the items, but Lucia still was feeling torn about reporting the theft to police. So she did what any confused soul does in a time of emotional turmoil: she consulted friend Ramona Singer!
“Ramona said she needed to speak up before the woman victimized another family,” the source told the Post. Singer told Gordon, “I’m doing a Ramona on you! You’re going to report this woman.”
The women notified the police, and lured Santos back to the apartment by telling her they wanted to buy the rest of the stolen goods. When she arrived, she was arrested.
Meanwhile, Ramona is very pleased to have taken a bite out of crime.
“I’m thrilled justice was served,” she told the Post. “My friend showed strength and perseverance. It was important that this was investigated. If it had not been investigated, she might have just gone to work for another family and done the same thing.”
