Ramona Singer and Leah McSweeney Are Still Beefing Over That Infamous Night in Rhode Island
Leah McSweeney gives some insight into her behavior during The Real Housewives of New York City trip.
The Real Housewives of New York City got hit by "Hurricane Leah" in the May 28 episode.
The newest New York Housewife, Leah McSweeney teased that we would be meeting "Hurricane Leah" in a post on Instagram prior to the episode airing. The name seems to refer to the Leah we saw come out after a few drinks during the ladies' first dinner on their trip to Newport, Rhode Island (clip above).
Leah prefaced the episode by saying on Instagram that she was hesitant to join the RHONY crew on the trip. "I didn’t know the women that well at this point, and I was in an already-vulnerable mood," she explained, before expressing some confusion over why Ramona Singer was so "embarrassed by MY 'bad' behavior."
That was a sentiment Ramona shared during the episode, as well as while live tweeting on May 28. Ramona tweeted that the episode was "embarrassing on so many levels" and "cringeworthy." She also said that she was "so horrified" by Leah's behavior during the dinner that she "didn’t want to remember" it the next day, which is why she told the group that she "blacked out," meaning that she blocked it out. "When someone becomes vicious and I don’t want to remember," Ramona tweeted.
Ramona also defended her own partying that we've seen on RHONY over the years. "I am never drunk, I never slur my words, and I never fall down," she tweeted. "I drink what is called responsibly."
Ramona's daughter, Avery Singer, also said that she was "cringing" at all the RHONY drama while watching the episode with her mom in a video in her Instagram Story. "This is nuts!" Avery said in the clip. "I'm embarrassed for you."
Ramona explained to Avery that Leah is her "new friend," but she "wasn't happy" with her that night. "You are handling this with absolute grace," Avery told her mom.
Ramona also said with a laugh that she is "the voice of reason," which her daughter agreed with in a video in her Instagram Story.
When Leah heard Avery's thoughts on the episode, she shared in her own Instagram Story that she didn't understand why Ramona's daughter was getting involved in their drama.
