Ramona Singer Takes The Stage This Saturday
The NYC 'Wife translates her dating rules into an Off Broadway role.
Ramona Singer is acting up again. The Real Housewife of New York City will make her Off-Broadway debut this Saturday at the 5 p.m. performance of Miss Abigail's Guide to Dating, Mating, and Marriage.
"The producers of the show knew about my 'Dating Rules for Marriage', so they asked me to appear in the play as they thought it was an appropriate match," Ramona tells The Dish. "Mario and I went to see the show first, and I have to say I loved it! We could not stop laughing!"
But the producers weren't joking when they offered to make her the leading lady. "After meeting me, they actually asked me to take on the starring role of Miss Abigail for a few months! There was just no way I could block off that much of my schedule. So they said, 'OK, how about one night as Miss Abigail? You're the perfect fit.' So we settled for this one night cameo. I was so flattered."
On Saturday, Ramona will play herself while Mario, Avery, and a couple familiar Housewives faces cheer her on from the audience. After the curtain closes, the Pinot maven and crew will head next door to toast her theater debut at the Paramount and then head uptown for dinner at Crown 81.
"I'm not so sure about TV acting," Ramona says about getting bit by the bug. "I like to be myself. I would like to host or co-host a show where people come to me with different problems or dilemmas and I give my opinions and advice. We all know how strongly opinionated I am."
Just don't rule out seeing her bask in the Off-Broadway lights once again. "It's so different, and I think it's going to be a lot of fun. You never know."
Well, her dance moves could certainly translate to some big numbers.
