Dolores Catania’s 3-Legged Guinea Pig Died: "He Was So Sweet and Happy All the Time"
The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom paid her respects to little Nubawitz.
Guinea pigs are often the casualties of summer vacation. A family takes one home from the classroom and the poor creature doesn’t survive for another school year. RIP.
We can say with certainty that Dolores Catania’s guinea pig, who died this past week, was not the victim of neglect. If anything, the little creature, who was named Nubs because he only had three legs, was given the best possible care by animal-loving Dolores, her daughter, Gabrielle, who is training to be a veterinarian, and her son, Frank.
In fact, Nubs was given so much love that he survived an entire six years! That must be something like 110 years in guinea pig years.
In an Instagram eulogy, Dolores wrote: “It was a tough day for the Catania [family] because anything and anyone that comes through our door are considered family. We loved him very much — RIP little buddy!”
She went on to thank the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains for their loving treatment. “It meant so much that you guys were so gentle and caring.”
Nubs, whose full name was Nubawitz, will be missed by his animal siblings, who we often see on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, including two rescued pit bulls — Lolli and Lulu— as well Raz, a mutt, and Dog, a Chihuahua.
We’re sure they’ll wonder where their little buddy is, especially when there are baby carrots around. Have a baby carrot in heaven for us, little Nubawitz.
