Jules Wainstein Reveals Some of the Best Advice She's Received... So Far
The #RHONY rookie opens up about her new life in front of the cameras.
On The Real Housewives of New York City this season, Jules Wainstein is the new girl in town. And while she's been besties with Dorinda Medley for years, some of the other women have had to adjust to Jules hanging around the crew. Still, the RHONY rookie tells The Daily Dish it's been a fun, new endeavor to take on once the shock of finding out she had been picked to be on the show wore off.
"I thought it was a joke. I didn’t even answer the phone the first few times," she said. "I couldn’t believe it. Never in my wildest dreams, but I was so excited." While Jules is certainly no shrinking violet, appearing on camera has been more of an adjustment for her husband Michael.
"You know, Michael’s really supportive. Ironically he’s very private, but whenever I want to do something, he’s like the No.1 supporter. If I want to take a ballet class at 35 years old, then he’s like then, 'You’re going to Lincoln Center. We’re going to Julliard.' It’s not gray area here. He’s been great," she said. "He’s so excited for me."
Still she's heeding some wise words from her longtime pal, Dorinda, as she readies for life in the public eye.
"You know what, Dorinda was prepping me, she was like, 'You’re going to think life is so different, but the next day I went out and got my banana and my coffee, and it was still the same price and still everything the same.' You know what, I was kind of like, 'Oh my god, am I not going to be able to wear pimple cream outside?' Because I walk around with Mario Badescu pimple cream on in public and you know, I’m still going to do that. I think, I hope life will be the same," she said. "I am naive, so I don’t know, I hope life will be the same. You never know, I don’t know what to expect."
In fact, Dorinda offered Jules some other words of advice as well. "I said, 'Don't do anything on the show that you're gonna regret. Do anything for yourself, but when it comes to your family and your marriage, think hard there about what you want to expose because you're on the show; they're not. And then I also said, 'Once you put it out there after the scene, you've got to let it go because it's out there. The universe owns it. Bravo owns it, you know? I also told her about two days ago when we saw [a scene from this season of RHONY], I said, 'Remember, you think everyone's that interested. By next week, they've forgotten everything that happened," Dorinda explained to us. "So just keep it moving."
Longtime RHONY 'Wife, Ramona Singer, just wanted Jules to know the best person to be at all times is Jules. "I told Jules, 'Just be yourself. Be true to you,'" she said. "Cameras don't lie. Be who you are. You're adorable, you're fun, you're uplifting, you're positive. She puts a smile on my face all the time." -Additional reporting by Laura Rosenfeld
