Kandi Burruss Shares an Update on Her Friendship with Kim Zolciak and Weighs In on Her Called-Off Divorce
After Kim said she still has beef with Kandi during her RHOA Season 15 cameo, Kandi had a surprising reaction.
After disagreeing about their song collaboration, “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party,” on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 2, Kandi Burruss and Kim Zolciak-Biermann have had an up-and-down friendship.
More than five years after she last appeared on RHOA as a friend in Season 10, Kim popped up on the show on Season 15 Episode 9 to grab dinner with current cast member Shereé Whitfield, as well as fellow alums DeShawn Snow and Lisa Wu.
During the meal, Kim — who recently called off her divorce from retired NFL player Kroy Biermann — admitted that she still had hard feelings toward Kandi. Then, on the July 23 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kandi sounded off on what Kim said, in addition to revealing how she really reacted when she learned that the RHOA alum was no longer getting divorced.
Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s Beef with Kandi Burruss
While DeShawn, Kim, Shereé, and Lisa were reminiscing about their time together on Season 1 of RHOA, Kim shared that she had just run into Kandi at Porsha Williams’ November wedding.
“I was at Porsha’s wedding, [and] Kandi came up [and] gave me a hug,” Kim recounted. Shereé asked if that meant the two had “squashed everything.”
“No, bitch, just because I hugged her doesn’t mean I squashed it,” Kim said, and Lisa asked why exactly the two weren’t friends. “I just sang a f-cking song that went really big and I enjoyed it...”
Kandi Burruss weighs in on the feud and Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s divorce
While appearing on WWHL, Kandi shared how she reacted when she found out that Kim and Kroy decided to dismiss their divorce about two months after news of their split was first publicized.
“Well, I’m happy they decide[d] to stay together, OK?” Kandi said, before addressing what Kim said on the show about their falling-out. “But as far as her saying [we had beef] — what beef? Girl, we don’t have a beef.”
Host Andy Cohen pointed out that it seems like the two “kind of do” have a feud going on, and Kandi revealed why that wasn’t the case.
“No, we don’t, because the last time I saw her, she was extremely nice, and she was acting like I was coming up to her. She was saying, ‘Oh girl, come on, let’s hug, that was so long ago.’ She was saying that to me, and I was glad to reciprocate because I don’t have a wish to keep that going, you know what I’m saying?” Kandi said.
As a result, the singer “didn’t understand” when she heard what Kim said during her dinner with DeShawn, Lisa, and Shereé.
“Well, that’s not how you was acting when I saw you,” Kandi added. “Keep that same energy.”
Though the two had disagreed in the past, Kandi noted that those days are behind them.
“There’s nothing for us to beef about,” she concluded.
