Cynthia Bailey Reveals the “Final Straw” That Led to Mike Hill Divorce

The RHOA alum also spilled on why being “tired and drunk” at BravoCon 2022 helped her cope with their split.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Cynthia Bailey was already “going through some things” in her marriage to Mike Hill when she reached the “final straw” that made her realize it was time for them to go their separate ways.

How to Watch

“I feel like we weren’t friends anymore,” she explained on the October 31 episode of Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave’s Two Ts in a Pod podcast. “I feel like it was just going toward… we’re just not going to be friends if we didn’t pump the brakes.”

The reason that was a marriage dealbreaker? “This is not my first rodeo,” Cynthia added. “I think friendship just has to be there in a marriage. Like, love is great, but friendship has to be there. I truly want to be with my best friend.”

Despite their split, Cynthia and Mike are “very much” on good terms, though she doesn’t “want to go have sushi with him tonight or anything like that.” Further sharing that she has “good days and bad days,” the RHOA alum said that neither of them regret their decision to divorce.

Asked what has given her strength amid her “unfortunate divorce,” Cynthia cited BravoCon 2022, which kicked off the day after she and Mike released their joint statement about the split.

“Honestly, BravoCon helped a lot. I love our fans. I didn’t even think about it for three days because I was too damn tired… Tired and drunk, OK?” she told Tamra and Teddi, also crediting her supporters for lifting her up “in a blaze of glory” that weekend. “So that was a welcome, nice distraction from it all.”

While at BravoCon in New York City, Cynthia referred to the three-day event as the “distraction” she needed amid her split. “I will say that BravoCon came right on time,” she said during a Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show fan Q&A. “I’ve had a really nice, healthy, fun distraction from my family life, away from my Bravo family… Although, unfortunately, CHill is officially chilling for real, chilling out. I’m a Pisces woman, I believe in love, so I’ll just keep looking.”
