Sanya Richards-Ross Explains Why She Chose Kenya and Kandi for Her MommiNation Shoot
The RHOA cast member also revealed whether Kandi Burruss and Kenya Moore’s Instagram followers were involved in her decision.
Drew Sidora has not been one to hold back when it comes to expressing all her feelings about the Season 14 drama with Sanya Richards-Ross, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member definitely had plenty to say after discovering Sanya had uninvited her from her MommiNation photo shoot during the June 12 episode.
“I just felt like I was completely sideswiped the last night with my friend Sanya,” Drew told Kenya Moore when the two met for lunch, later adding, “I feel like she’s not being loyal.”
Recently, Sanya revealed the real reason behind her decision to include only Kenya and Kandi Burruss in her MommiNation photo shoot when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on June 26. After host Andy Cohen read a fan’s question asking Sanya why she chose Kandi and Kenya for her MommiNation photo shoot “over the other ladies” and if it had “nothing to do with their large social media followings,” the WWHL host chimed in with his own thoughts on the matter.
“I think if it did have to do with their social media followings, it makes sense to me,” Andy said, adding, “Why wouldn’t you pick the people with the biggest following?” Sanya went on to share that the reason she selected Kandi and Kenya was because “most of [the] moms in MommiNation have younger kids, and Kenya and Kandi obviously have the youngest kids.”
Sanya later added that both ladies were “more relatable to [her] audience,” and though “it didn’t hurt” that they both have large Instagram followings, it wasn’t the reason she had invited them: “It was because I felt like they made the biggest connection to our audience at MommiNation.”
And despite the fact that Sanya left Drew out of her photo shoot, Drew made sure to invite Sanya to her Drop It with Drew event in the recent June 26 episode — and Drew spilled all the tea on her “lit” event with the ladies, along with Kandi, in The Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show, which you can check out at the top of this post.
