Kenya Reflects on Her Toughest TV Experience Yet and Thanks Her Daughter for Being Her "Inspiration"
The RHOA mom endured extreme challenges with grace, and she has a special 4-year-old (hint: it's Brooklyn!) to thank.
As a "recruit" on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, Kenya Moore was indeed put to the test. And that's putting it mildly. On the February 1 episode of Fox's reality competition series, The Real Housewives of Atlanta mom went through trials that didn't exactly look Gone With the Wind fabulous.
After testing her balance by walking on two wobbly poles suspended over a 40-foot drop, Kenya's next challenge involved getting set on fire. Through it all, the haircare mogul was struggling with extreme knee pain. Ultimately, Kenya decided to exit the competition. But in the end, she has nothing but gratitude for her experience on the show.
In a February 1 Instagram post, Kenya shared a photo of herself walking the infamous poles. In the photo, her face is a picture of steely determination. "I pushed myself beyond my wildest dreams," she wrote.
Kenya's caption continued: "I never thought that I could conquer my fear of heights and through this show, I promise you that there is not a mountain, an airplane, a cliff, or any extreme height that I would ever be afraid of ever again. Thank you [Fox TV] for the challenge. I have friends for life who literally motivated me to keep going. I love all of you."
The beauty queen went on to thank her coaches on the show (known as the "Directing Staff"), her fans, and — last but not least — a very special 4-year-old. "Thank you to my daughter [Brooklyn Daly] for being my inspiration!" Kenya wrote.
And as the clip above proves, Kenya is inspiring her daughter right back. "Whenever [Brooklyn] says she's afraid of something, I always remind her: no, you're never scared," Kenya says. "She's supposed to be fearless."
