Alexis Bellino Shares Her Son Miles Is Transgender: “I’m Extremely Proud of Him”
After sharing that her son is transgender, the RHOC alum got a lot of love from fellow Bravolebrities.
Alexis Bellino is “extremely proud” to introduce the world to her son Miles.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum, who appeared on Seasons 5 through 8, shared on Instagram on October 25 that her almost-15-year-old son is transgender.
"Hey world, this is Miles. My transgender son," Alexis wrote the caption of her post, which accompanied a photo of her and her son (who she shares with her ex, Jim Bellino). “He’s now a month shy of 15 [years] old, so he’s seen the questions and comments made about him on my IG. Miles now has a voice and has asked me to do this post.”
Alexis went on to write that she had stopped posting photos of Miles as he went through a “transition of life,” but that he is now ready to “come out.”
“I cannot imagine the strength and courage it took for my baby to do this, but I’m extremely proud of him and I want everyone to understand that love doesn’t change in these situations. It’s unconditional love,” Alexis added.
The mom of three, who is currently engaged to Andy Bohn, noted that her son came out to her about 16 months earlier.
“He hid it from everyone else for a while, but eventually he got to where we are right now. TO HIS FREEDOM! My son has now flourished!! My son now smiles naturally for the first time in years! My son now loves the clothes he wears. My son can breathe knowing he can be his true self. My son lights up every single time a stranger calls him ‘he.’ My son runs with the boys. My son can actually FEEL,” she continued. “My son can live life now with his true self...”
Alexis added that Miles has always been giving toward others, and she’s “so proud” that he wants to live his truth at “such a young age.”
“He now has his entire life to live the way he should,” she concluded. “FYI all hate on my social media will be immediately deleted and that user instantly blocked. Let’s bring peace and happiness and unity from this. We are all human and we are ALL equal. I am 100 [percent] fully supportive of my son. I hope you will be too. I love you all. Thank you for supporting me and my family through all of our many transitions through the years. This world needs more love and kindness.”
Several Bravolebrities showed their support for Alexis and Miles in the comments section of the post.
Andy Cohen posted five clapping hands and five hearts, and wrote, “Beautiful post.” RHOC’s Heather Dubrow commented, “So brave and amazing — we love you both,” while her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, added, “Brave and beautiful.”
Fellow RHOC alum Meghan King wrote, “Beautiful example of love!”
