Andy Cohen Says RHOC Season 16 "Starts with Quite a Bang"
The Real Housewives executive producer just gave the best tease of the upcoming season of RHOC on WWHL.
Everything we've heard about the upcoming Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Orange County has sounded absolutely amazing. But Andy Cohen has just given us the best tease yet of what we can expect from the new season.
During Jerry O'Connell's appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on October 25, a member of the virtual audience asked The Talk co-host what he is most looking forward to when Heather Dubrow returns to RHOC in Season 16. "First of all, I love Heather, love her family, love her husband, love her beauty, love the elegance that Heather brings," Jerry said in the below clip. "And I have to say, when classic Housewives make a comeback, it always makes for really fun television."
Andy then chimed in with some intel about the new season since he is an executive producer of The Real Housewives, after all. "I gotta tell ya, I watched the first two episodes over the weekend. It starts with quite a bang," he teased, emphasizing, "Quite a bang."
That was music to Jerry's Bravo superfan ears. "I'm a huge fan of Orange County. I love Orange County, and I love anything that enhances Orange County," he added on WWHL. "I've always been a fan of the original [Real Housewives franchise]."
Heather, who has been giving fans little glimpses of filming RHOC Season 16 on Instagram, similarly gave a tantalizing tease of the new season when she stopped by Bravo's Chat Room in August (clip above). "So, here's the thing, we're about to go on a trip on the show, and it seems as though there may be a little shakeup, a little plot twist about to happen on this trip," Heather told co-hosts Gizelle Bryant and Porsha Williams at the time, before later adding, "All I can say is, it's going to be fun."
After it was announced this summer that Heather would be coming back to RHOC in Season 16, she and Andy discussed her return in an episode of her Heather Dubrow's World podcast in June. "It is crazy," Andy said. "It's so great. I'm so excited. And, you know, it just is a testament to kind of everything at the right time."
Heather agreed that "timing is a big deal" when it came to her decision to return to RHOC in the new season. "Now things are a little bit different. My family's in a different place. My kids are a little bit older. The pandemic has sort of given me a different perspective on things," she explained. "And then I started thinking about, 'How many times do you get to go back and try something again?'"
The fact that some time has passed since we last saw Heather on RHOC (she was a cast member in Seasons 7 through 11) had Andy even more enthused about her return. "I'm excited for people to see your life has changed," he said. "We haven't seen your house [the Dubrow Chateau], really. Your kids are in a totally different place."
And, according to Andy, "Once a Housewife, always a Housewife."
Along with Heather, the RHOC Season 16 cast will also see the return of Shannon Storms Beador, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson. So, how do they really feel about Heather coming back to the OC? Bravo Insider has the exclusive scoop, below.
