It Turns Out That Lala Kent and Meghan King Both Do *This* Before Dating Someone New

Just call her Meghan King, private investigator. One week after Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent bragged that her new mystery man had a “stellar background check,” The Real Housewives of Orange County alum also copped to doing her own investigative work when she meets someone new.

“I am not kidding, I do background checks on every single person I date,” Meghan revealed on the November 21 episode of former Bachelor contestant Caelynn Miller-Keyes’ True Crime Reality podcast.

It seems her latest sleuthing mission may not have been so long ago, either. In an episode of her own podcast, Intimate Knowledge, which dropped the same day, the RHOC mom of three shared that she has “shockingly” been dating someone she referred to by the code name “Kenny” for “an entire month.”    

Admitting that one month is “like a year in Meg years, as far as relationships go,” she added, “It takes me no time at all to get into them and I’m very quick in getting out of them.”

After her ex-husband Jim Edmonds filed for divorce in October 2019 following five years of marriage, Meghan married Cuffe Biden Owens two years later, in October 2021. However, the couple’s marriage was annulled the following July.

Recalling a minor “freak out” she had recently, Meghan said on her podcast that she wouldn’t have blamed her new boyfriend, whom she knew first as a friend, for breaking up with her too. “I later apologized, but the great thing about dating a friend is he was like, ‘Look, babe, we’re good. It’s fine. It’s all good,’” the RHOC alum added. “Very healthy. It’s a nice change of pace for me. Everything’s fine. Everything’s going smoothly.”

That very well might be because “Kenny” had to pass her background check first.
