RHOM's Lea Black: I'm Not a Liar
The Real Housewives star says she defended Alexia Echevarria in time of need.
There's no question the ladies of the Real Housewives of Miami can snipe at each other with the best of them, and on last night's Watch What Happens Live, Lea Black came prepared to defend herself as the season premiered with both guns blazing.
Responding to a montage of clips of the show's other stars imitating her and implying she has a problem with the truth, Black insisted she's no liar. And she brought physical evidence.
"Just to show you how far these girls will go, Alexia says this rumor that I said her son should be in jail for 25 years," Black says, referring to the October 2012 incident where Housewives star Alexia Echevarria's then-20-year-old son Peter Rosello was caught on film punching a homeless man in the groin and arrested.
"Right after it happened, everyone's piling on, 'He should be in jail forever, he's horrible, how do you hit a homeless guy?'" she continues, and pulled out a story from the press.
"I'm quoted in the press and she knows it and everybody knows it, 'That kid has a heart of gold,' Black says. 'Of course he made a mistake. And it's hard to accept because I'm always on the side of the underdog. But I love Alexia and I know she raised him right.'"
After reading the full quote, Black continues, "Four days after he's arrested for hitting the guy. So they knew [that rumor] was a lie. Why she would perpetuate that lie, and bring more attention to an ugly thing her son did—and he's a good kid, he's a great kid—is beyond me."
Her final assessment of the ugly situation: "It just shows you how far they'll go to take a dig at me."
Watch Lea Black defends herself against digs from her #RHOM co-stars and tell us in the comments: do you think Black has a tendency to bend the truth?
