Frank Catania Says He and Dolores Catania's Boyfriend "Don't Exactly See Eye to Eye"

When Part 3 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 12 reunion aired this week, Frank Catania joined his ex-wife, Dolores Catania, for the sit-down, and one comment he made during the emotional and candid conversation rose to the ranks of buzzy. At one point during the conversation, he likened Dolores’ new boyfriend, Paul “Paulie” Connell, to a famous animated character.

“What do I think of Paulie? He looks like Buzz Lightyear,” he told reunion host Andy Cohen. Dolores wasn’t too amused by the comment, and a bit of a debate followed about the nickname, as you can see in the clip above.

That comment caught the attention of Paul, who posted a funny response to the nickname on his Instagram Stories.

After the reunion aired, Frank appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and reflected on that moment as well as shared an update on their relationship today. “But since the reunion, let me say, I’m happy to say that Paulie and I have definitely, without a doubt, made some headway. Paulie and I have spoken. Paulie and I have joked around a little bit, and hopefully he’s opening up more and I’m accepting him more.”

Frank also confirmed that the Buzz Lightyear comment wasn’t meant to be mean, adding on WWHL, “He’s a good-looking guy.”

But Dolores isn’t the only one who has found love. Frank brought his new girlfriend, Brittany, as his plus-one for his WWHL appearance, “Wow, Frank brought his girlfriend tonight. Very exciting, Frank Catania,” Andy noted, to which Frank added, “You know it’s serious then.”

RHONJ is streaming on Peacock and available on the Bravo app.
