RHONY Season 14 Newcomers Jenna Lyons and Erin Lichy Open Up About Joining the Show
The first-time ’Wives both dished on the new iteration of The Real Housewives of New York City.
New York, new Housewives! Jenna Lyons and Erin Lichy are both set to be cast members on Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York City, and ahead of their debuts, the two are opening up about their decision to join the show in the first place.
As fashion-forward fans may already be aware, Jenna is the former president and executive creative director of J.Crew Group. Discussing her transition from that role to being featured on RHONY, Jenna recently joked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, “[It’s] not the most, like, natural career change, I know.”
Still, she “didn’t have a job” and was in search of a new opportunity. “When I left J.Crew, I was like, ‘What am I gonna do?’” Jenna recalled. “And then I went on podcasts and they asked me if I had heard that there was gonna be a reboot of The Real Housewives [of New York City]… and they said there’s never been an openly gay woman on [RHONY]. I was like, ‘Hmm, could be something.’”
And the rest is history! The RHONY Season 14 casting announcement took place during a taping of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen at BravoCon 2022 in October.
Teasing what’s to come, Jenna said the new season is “hot.”
“Trust me,” she added. “It’s a moment.”
Erin, a real estate agent and the owner of her own home renovation and design firm, Homegirl, echoed Jenna’s sentiment in a recent interview with ET. “Entering into uncharted territory, while challenging, has been fulfilling in ways I never would have expected,” she said of joining the show. “Having the ability to portray my version of NYC has been truly very rewarding.”
An exact date for the RHONY Season 14 premiere has not yet been announced, but the upcoming season is expected to debut sometime this year. According to a press release, fans can expect the season to “follow an all-new group of seven dynamic women who run in the same social circles, thriving in one of the most diverse and electric cities in the world. From fashion and real estate, to philanthropy and social influence, these women have made their mark in NYC and will now share their lives as they juggle careers, family life, and jam-packed social calendars in the city that never sleeps.”
