Leah McSweeney's Daughter Kier's Recent Milestone Has Her in Her Feelings
The RHONY mom opens up about what's next for her daughter and celebrates Kier's special day.
Leah McSweeney is sharing the latest update on her daughter, Kier. The Real Housewives of New York City mom and fashion mogul recently took to Instagram to celebrate her daughter's recent milestone and also opened up about her life with Kier during an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish.
"Happy 15th Birthday to my light!! Kier, my beautiful angel, you already know I’m obsessed with you," Leah wrote in the caption of her June 1 post, which featured a series of sweet photos with her daughter to commemorate Kier's 15th birthday.
She went on to add, "You are the apple of my eye and my reason for everything. I am so proud of the young lady you have become. It is a privilege to be your mother. I will have your back forever baby girl. Unconditionally. I love you so much."
With her daughter growing up so fast, Leah recently shared in an interview with The Daily Dish just how busy Kier's been these days, and how much the proud mom loved each and every opportunity to spend time with her. In terms of what her "perfect day in New York" looked like, Leah told The Daily Dish, "Hanging out with my daughter. But I don't get to do that very much because she's [a teenager] and has a lot of friends and a very active social life. So when I get to actually spend time with her, which, again, is getting to be very little time, that's the best for me."
The Married to the Mob designer went on to add that Kier was definitely living her best life, saying, "She's in a great school, she's really happy. She's good."
Leah also revealed that she would be open to her daughter someday reading her book, Chaos Theory: Finding Meaning in the Madness, One Bad Decision at a Time, which chronicles the many challenges Leah faced in her life, beginning in her teenage years. "I'd totally let her read the book. Absolutely," Leah said, going on to share what she hoped Kier might take away from reading about the RHONY mom's past struggles.
"I think what my daughter would take away from it would be something different than I'd want other people to take away from it," Leah said. "What I would want her to take away from it is just to still love me, even though I'm flawed and made all these mistakes."
Leah also opened up about what it was like looking back on her own struggles as a teenager while she penned her book, especially now that she is a mom to her own teen daughter. "It was like, 'Wow, I can't believe I was doing these things at my daughter's age,'" Leah said, later adding, "I'm so happy my daughter has a different life."
RHONY is streaming on Peacock and available on the Bravo app.
