Karen Huger Explains How Self-Quarantine Changed Her Marriage to Ray
Something pretty major changed during the pandemic for the RHOP couple.
Karen Huger and husband Ray Huger's marriage seems to have hit a bump in the road from what fans have seen so far in Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Potomac. So when Karen appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on August 16, she revealed if being in self-quarantine with her longtime partner amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic helped them get to a better place in any way.
"I would say it's helped us. Look, it's one-on-one; it's me and Ray and it's really given us time to have that quality time and work it out, baby," she said on WWHL this past Sunday. "And that's what we're doing."
Of their ups and downs featured on the current season, Karen recently told Entertainment Tonight, "It's a place of work in a marriage. We don't hold back and we work through. I'm honored to have done it."
In fact, Karen recently shared a photo of herself and Ray cheers-ing to some wine on a recent date night. She added in the caption, "So much fun. Love this man. It's a celebration."
Karen and Ray have been married for almost 25 years and together they are parents to two kids, Brandon and Rayvin.
In 2019, in an interview with The Daily Dish podcast, Karen revealed if she thinks she and Ray would ever consider a vow renewal.
"I don't like jinxing things. Let's be real: Some people do that and then the divorce is right after that. I will be the first to say marriage is not easy; why mess with what's working? If you see me do a renewal, it will be something spiritual... and only if Ray wants it. But Ray says I'm such a pistol he could only do it once."
She added, "Who wants to do that again? For me, I have the pictures, I have the ring, I have the man 23 years later, and I don't want to rock the boat."
