Ashley Darby Shares Why Her Divorce from Michael Is Getting "More Difficult"

In a RHOP preview, Ashley divorce from Michael gets complicated while the cast is on their Miami trip.

By Shannon Raphael

When Ashley Darby first told pals Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Karen Huger about her separation from Michael Darby on The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 7 premiere, she said that the two were going to remain on amicable terms and that they were even going to buy a house together.

"I think that I'll have a more amicable divorce because it was something that happened gradually over time," Ashley reiterated in an interview. She did note, at that time, things could become tenser for her and her former spouse, adding, "I don't want to talk that into existence, but, there is a possibility for that."

Are Ashley and Michael Darby Separated with Benefits?

But as Season 7 has progressed, she's noticed that her separation and divorce plans haven't been as simple as she initially thought. She sought the counsel of an attorney, who told her that buying a home with her former spouse may not be the best move for her long-term future.

In a preview for Episode 7, which will air on November 20, Ashley tells Robyn and Gizelle that she made an offer on her dream home, but she's planning on withdrawing it because the tenants want to move out in July, not June. Ashley wants to be out of the apartment she shares with Michael sooner rather than later.

"Michael's getting more and more difficult," Ashley says about how things are going in the one-year separation period. "I don't know what's going on, but everything is a fight with us now."

"[That's] the reality of divorce. Like, he probably really thought you were bluffing, and even if he didn't, their thoughts just start going crazy," Robyn tells Ashley. "He's gonna make your life difficult."

Ashley notes that Michael has been reaching out to her about minute matters while the ladies are on their trip to Miami. "Michael has been finding the smallest things to argue with me about," Ashley says in a confessional, like when Dean needs a pull-up, or Dylan needs milk for his bottle. "Like, bro, figure it out, leave me alone. I'm on vacation."

The mom of two says it's now her turn to have some fun. "He lived his best life while I sat at home with the kids," Ashley adds.

It looks like the RHOP cast member is now living her own "best life" by spending time with another Bravolebrity. Ashley has sparked romance rumors with Winter House's Luke Gulbranson after the two first connected in person at BravoCon 2022.

While Ashley said on Hannah Ferrier's Dear Reality, You're Effed podcast that the two are just "getting to know each other" in a "very innocent" way by mainly texting and talking, they did meet up for a weekend together in Washington, D.C.

Fans will have to wait to find out if Ashley and Luke will go the distance, but they can find out more about her separation from Michael by watching the video above!
