Meredith Marks Shares an Update on Her Marriage to Seth Marks
Instead of recording a new episode of their podcast each week, Meredith and Seth record several in a row at one time.
As Meredith herself explained, "Seth and I have really busy schedules." Plus, Seth can sometimes get distracted while the two are recording.
"We can't necessarily get together every single week to record a podcast, so we want to have some of them banked to make sure that we actually have something to air every week," she said in an interview on the episode. "But, reeling Seth in is a job in and of itself."
Seth and Meredith Marks Share New Details About Their Wedding
While recording an episode of their podcast, Seth and Meredith chatted about their 1996 wedding. The couple exchanged vows at the Ritz Carlton in Chicago (which is where Meredith is from), and they had their rehearsal dinner at the Four Seasons.
"First of all, you wanted to have the biggest production of all time," Seth said to his spouse, before revealing that the two had a guest list of around 350 people.
After their union, Meredith and Seth welcomed sons Reid and Brooks together, and daughter Chloe. When the Marks family relocated to Park City, Meredith and Seth got a postnuptial agreement.
Do Meredith and Seth Marks Have a Prenup?
Though they did not get a prenup signed prior to their wedding, about 15 years into their marriage, Meredith and Seth chose to get a postnuptial agreement.
Meredith opened up about how she was feeling in her marriage at the time when the agreement was signed.
"You were very disconnected to me at that point in time," Meredith said to her husband. "I was moving with three children from Chicago to Park City, Utah, where if you were to go get a divorce, it is not favorable to women in Utah."
"I was worried that I would lose my children and be stuck somewhere that I didn't know, and that [Seth] would leave me. That is why I had a postnup," she added. "There was nothing financial in it, it was strictly about custody of our children."
Seth was shocked to hear that Meredith thought that he was going to leave her. However, he admitted that he was singularly focused on being a financial provider at that point in time.
"I don't think Seth remembers how bad things really were," Meredith admitted in an interview on the episode. "Like, back then, I was terrified that he was leaving. We were not happy together. It was not good."
As the pair reflected on their move to Park City, Seth became emotional.
"I wasn't there from an emotional support standpoint, and I regret that," he said. while tearing up "And I apologize for that. I take responsibility for that."
