Rhylee Gerber's Stepfather Was in Critical Condition While Hospitalized Amid Cancer Battle

Rhylee Gerber is asking for prayers after her stepfather, John, was hospitalized amid his cancer battle.

The Below Deck yachtie shared in a post on Instagram on March 13 that her stepdad, who was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer in 2019, was in the ER. "Please keep my stepfather in your prayers," Rhylee shared, along with a photo of herself with her stepfather in the hospital. "We are at the ER now after 3 blood clots showed up in his heart after his CT scan this afternoon."

Rhylee then shared that her stepdad's condition had worsened oven the weekend. "His condition changed yesterday from stable to critical after the fluid was drained from [his] lung. Turns out they weren't blood clots in his heart at all and he is now diagnosed with congestive heart failure," she said. "His heart rate is sporadic and today he sees a cardiologist. He's had two blood transfusions since last night and is dehydrated so they have him on a slow drip."

She also said in her Instagram Story that she would be auctioning off the dress she wore during her December 16, 2019 appearance with Kate Chastain on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen "in order to help aid in the [hospital] costs as well as the additional [money] associated [with] caring for my family and their pets/household at this time."

Rhylee later shared some good news about her stepdad, who she lovingly refers to as Hoonie, in her Instagram Story. "Hoonie ate today, got a sponge bath and has color again in his cheeks," she updated her followers.

Rhylee has received a lot of love from the Below Deck family on Instagram, including Captain Sandy Yawn, Colin Macy-O'Toole, and Kasey Cohen.

She previously set up a GoFundMe for John. It has raised nearly $3,000 of its $12,000 goal, as of the time of this writing.
