Rosie Pope Takes on Insurance Companies

Why she wants IVF covered. Now!

Mrs. Pope goes to Washington!

"I think if a veteran has fought for this country and they can't get pregnant, they should be covered for IVF or any infertility treatment," Rosie passionately champions the cause while talking to The Washington Examiner.

Our pregnancy guru – who struggled herself to conceive her second son – says she would "absolutely" testify before lawmakers about changing health care's current lack of coverage for in vitro fertilization as well as other fertility methods.

"No matter how much I want to cover my employees, I cannot and I just think this is only because of politics," Rosie explains about her wish to provide her company with a plan that covers IVF.  "They don't realize how many people's lives are affected by infertility."

Over roughly the past five years, the mom of three experienced miscarriages, surgery on her uterus, an ectopic pregnancy, and removal of a fallopian tube. Despite all that, in vitro fertilization ultimately led to her conceiving now one and half year old Wellington – and Rosie encourages other women facing infertility issues to remain focused.

"First of all, no one should get to decide how long is too long for you to try," the Mommy IQ author determines to BabyZone. "Secondly, when you need help for your fertility, find a really good reproductive endocrinologist and go…The third thing is to really have faith that somehow you're going to have your family even if that means not in the traditional way you might have thought."
