Ryan Murphy Spilled So Much Tea About American Horror Story and American Crime Story You'll Need Another Cup
The TV mogul held nothing back on #WWHL.
Ryan Murphy was definitely in a giving mood when he appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday night, because the TV mogul didn't hold back any details about his many, many upcoming TV projects. So, let's start with what we should expect from Season 7 of American Horror Story. After parodying the perils of reality TV during American Horror Story: Roanoke, Ryan is ready to tackle an even scarier topic next time around: politics.
"Well I don't have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is gonna be about the election that we just went through," he dished. "So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people," adding that there "may be" a Donald Trump-type character in the mix.
After revealing that major piece of information, Ryan then spilled on the upcoming American Crime Story based on the 1997 murder of fashion icon, Gianni Versace. "We're shooting that in the spring and we're doing Katrina in the summer, but Katrina will air first," he said before revealing who will play the roles of Versace and Andrew Cunanan, who killed the designer outside his Miami home 20 years ago.
"We just finished signing Darren Criss to play Andrew Cunanan and Edgar Ramirez to play Versace and talking to a really great Oscar winner to be Donatella," he added (which shuts down previous speculation that Lady Gaga would step into the role). "I hope that comes together. I hope."
