Ryan Serhant Reveals the Worst Part of Renovating His Home with His Family
The Million Dollar Listing agent detailed how his family was very "involved" in the remodeling process.
Ryan Serhant’s Brooklyn townhouse is finally complete after several long years of renovations — and plenty of input from family members. During his recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the Million Dollar Listing New York cast member opened up about what it was like to have his in-laws so involved in the reconstruction process.
As captured on the new limited series, Million Dollar Listing: Ryan's Renovation, Ryan and his wife, Emilia Bechrakis, undertook an extensive remodel of their home, which included building out the basement level of the five-floor property into a suite for Emilia's mother. But it turns out having his in-laws around during the renovations came with both pros and cons, as Ryan detailed in the June 15 episode of WWHL.
“The best part is that they’re just there and involved,” he explained, going on to add, “I have a lot of friends who don’t have that luxury and I think any day that you have parents, in-laws, grandparents, extended family near you, I think, is definitely a gift after coming out of 2020."
The agent went on to admit that there was one major downside to having relatives share their opinions on the renovations. “The worst part is you second-guess all of your own decisions,” he said. “You’re like ‘Oh, we should definitely put a bathroom there,’ and then, you know, Leo, my father-in-law is like, ‘Oh you should put it there.’”
Watch Ryan open up more about the renovations — and reveal which former Housewife he recently worked with on a listing — above.
