Sarah Jessica Parker Wants Kim Cattrall to Have the "Privacy She Asked For" Following Her Brother's Death
SJP spoke out about Chris Cattrall's death in a televised interview.
When Kim Cattrall announced her brother Chris Cattrall's death on February 4, her former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker sent social media condolences.
On Thursday, in SJP's first televised interview since the passing, she deferred to Kim's stated wishes about moving forward.
“I can't begin to know how her family is managing such a loss," she told Extra TV at a screening for her current HBO series Divorce. "We all send her our love and condolences and grant her the privacy that she's asked for.”
Her response is a reference to Cattrall's statement posted to her Instagram feed on February 4.
"It is with great sadness that myself and my family announce the unexpected passing of our son and brother, Chris Cattrall," Kim wrote. "At this time we ask for privacy but we want to thank you all on social media for your outpouring of love and support in this trying time."
On February 6, she made another post, writing, "I would like to thank my fans, friends, and my #SexandtheCity colleagues for the outpouring of support for myself and family over the last 72 hours."
Chris Cattrall, 55, was reported missing since January 30 before he was found dead at his home, a rural property located in Alberta, Canada. His death is not considered suspicious, but the cause of death has not been disclosed.
