Scheana Shay Asks for Help Finding a Missing Family Member
The Vanderpump Rules SURver is reaching out to her followers to try to help find her mom's cousin.
Scheana Shay is asking for help finding a missing family member.
The Vanderpump Rules SURver's family is trying to locate her mother Erika van Olphen's cousin Phil Tate, who was last seen at the Westmont Village (formerly named Altavita Village) retirement community in Riverside, California on February 25.
Erika informed her followers about her missing cousin in her Instagram Stories on Thursday, February 27, which was also reposted by Scheana. The Vanderpump Rules mom also shared that Phil is diabetic and suffers from dementia. "He is not from the area so he will definitely be confused and disoriented," she wrote.
Both Erika and Scheana posted the Silver Alert for Phil issued by the California Highway Patrol in their Instagram Stories.
Erika later showed her gratitude to everyone who has helped get the word out about her loved one. "Thank you to everyone for reposting about my missing cousin Phil," Erika wrote. "Please keep him in your prayers and let's get him home safe!!"
Erika shared that "the search continues" in an update on Friday, February 28. "I will continue to report this all on here because the power of social media is SO insane, I never know who might see this and be able to provide ANY information to help."
She also noted that, in addition to the Silver Alert, a missing persons report has been filed with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. "Both the Riverside [Sheriff's] Department AND the Police Department have been searching tirelessly for the last 48 hrs," Erika wrote.
Erika said that there have been three different sightings of Phil in the Mission Grove Shopping Center in Riverside. "We do not have any leads as of now and no sightings since these ones yesterday," Erika wrote in her Instagram Stories. "So many family members and friends of my cousin have joined in on the search and have driven/walked miles and miles in all directions from where he was last seen."
They have been searching and will continue to monitor locations like churches, homeless shelters, hospitals, and parks in the area. Erika asked her followers to please contact her or call 911 if they have any information.
Scheana also asked her followers to continue to be vigilant and come forward with any information in a video on her Instagram Stories on February 28.
"My mom and I are in London right now feeling helpless. I posted yesterday, and he still is missing. We haven't found out anything. There were a couple updates the day before yesterday, a few sightings around Mission Grove and Bathurst [Road] and like a Sprouts shopping center parking lot, but we still haven't found him, so anyone in the Riverside area, please keep your eyes out," she said. "Thank you so much to everyone who keeps reposting."
Many members of the Vanderpump Rules crew, including Kristen Doute, Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent, Brittany Cartwright, Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Tom Schwartz, and Ariana Madix, have also lent their support in helping find Scheana's family member, alerting their followers that he has gone missing on their social media.
