Scheana Shay Reveals the Status of Mike Shay's Sobriety

The #PumpRules SURver gives an update on the couple is doing after their "hard year."

By Laura Rosenfeld

Scheana Shay and her husband opened up about their lives like never before this season of Vanderpump Rules when the couple dealt with Mike Shay's struggle with substance abuse. The cast revisited those emotional moments during Part 1 of the Season 4 reunion Monday, which caused Scheana to break down in tears over how they handled the difficult situation (clip above), which she came under fire for earlier this season.

How to Watch

But Scheana said she is actually glad they went through that experience, especially because her inexperience in dealing with that issue helped her become more educated on addiction and alcoholism. Most importantly, Scheana revealed that Shay hasn't had a drink in more than three months.

It sounds like Shay has maintained his sobriety since the reunion was filmed last month. "It was definitely a hard year but glad it's over and we are the happiest we've ever been! Sober looks good on Shay!!" Scheana tweeted Monday in response to one Twitter user whose post has since been deleted.

Scheana showed lots of love for her man and his progress on Instagram prior to the reunion airing Monday night. "Words can't express how proud I am of him and everything he's accomplished! Love you baby!" she captioned this lovely pic of the couple on vacay in Lake Como, Italy.

Kristen Doute also praised Shay for sharing his story during the reunion, which was his first appearance on the sit-down with Andy Cohen.

The SUR drama will continue during Part 2 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion on Monday, March 28 at 9/8c. See what we mean, below.
