Shah's MJ and GG Do Vegas for a Good Cause

"There were definitely days in my life when I experienced bullying," MJ reveals.

Two stars from Shahs of Sunset banded together over the weekend for a very worthy cause. Golnesa "GG" Gharacheedaghi and Mercedes "MJ" Javid hit the red carpet at the Bellagio in Las Vegas to promote an anti-bullying organization called Be In the Know About Bullying.

MJ was candid about the issue telling reporters that she has often been the target of bullying. "There were definitely days in my life when I experienced bullying even as an adult, and the toll that it takes on you is not okay," she said. "Until someone that you can relate to has experienced it, you don't even realise that you've got a bridge to someone who you can relate to who will help you see your way through it."

One of the things MJ could have been teased about is her voluptuous figure, but she's learned to embrace her curves. Earlier this year, she opened up about her struggles to lose weight. "When I first moved to LA, I went to an internist who told me I was really overweight, and he actually prescribed diet pills," she remembered. "I went to school and was shaking and having a hard time concentrating in class. I lost weight, [but] it was definitely not a healthy way to do it."

"I'm just gonna be really happy today with who I am," she added. "Striving for perfection is BS because then you're going to stay home and hid. I'd rather just be cool with what I have!"
