Shahs of Sunset Producers Reveal Why Mike Shouhed Is Different with Paulina
Producers tell all about the Shahs of Sunset cast relationships.
The Shahs of Sunset cast has evolved so much throughout the years, and if there's anyone who has seen these changes happen first hand, it's the show's producers. The team revealed some exclusive secrets about the cast and their relationships in an enhanced version of Season 8, Episode 11 that aired on April 24. Read on to find out exactly what the producers had to say!
1. Mike and Paulina
With all the relationships Mike Shouhed has been in, producers say he's different with his girlfriend, Paulina Ben-Cohen. According to the crew, "He constantly claims behind-the-scenes — and sometimes on camera — that she 'is the one.'"
2. The Parents
Being on the show has allowed the cast to open up in several aspects of their lives — and this includes introducing viewers to their families. Some parents have had more air time than others, while a few are still getting used to being on the show. Producers say of everyone's parents, Nema Vand's mom gets the most nervous on camera, "mostly because she's new at it."
In addition, they say that Golnesa "GG" Gharachedaghi's parents and Mercedes "MJ" Javid's mom are the parents who call and text the most during filming.
3. Reza and Adam's Healthy Efforts
Lots of packages were being sent to Reza Farahan and Adam Neely's home during this time. Producers explain that these packages were actually meal prep deliveries. But why all the prepped food? Reza was working on losing weight, say producers. We love us a good, healthy choice like this one.
4. The Glam Offenders
All of the cast members are on their A game when it comes to looking fresh and put together. However, a couple of people on the show take more time to do so than others. MJ and Destiney Rose are most likely to be late to filming because of glam issues, say producers.
5. Where MJ and GG Stand
The relationship between MJ and GG has changed a lot from the beginning of the show to now. Producers admit they "rarely" see MJ and GG in a good place. "But if anything, MJ makes GG laugh."
6. A Therapy Filming Sesh
In this episode, Nema opened up about his family issues and we took a look inside one of his therapy sessions. So, what's one of the biggest challenges when it comes to filming these therapy sessions? "Making sure the therapist dives in deep and doesn't make it all boilerplate," say producers.
Another challenge? The offices are always tiny.
7. What the Guys Wouldn't Do
Once the cast got to Hawaii, they were in for an adventure. They were all welcomed into a beautiful home for the entirety of their stay and in the backyard, there was a rope on one of the trees to jump into the ocean. The guys were too scared to try it — but producers jumped in after they were done filming. At least the opportunity didn't go to waste, right?
8. Looking Out for the Cast
After discussing these Shahs relationships, we can't forget about the crew's relationship with cast! Over 20 members of the production team traveled to Hawaii with the group. Before a trip, everyone lets producers know the things they cannot eat so everything can be handled ahead of time. The cultural attaché for also made sure the group had a whole spread of fruit. This team is always on top of everything.
