You may have noticed that Shannon Beador's eldest daughter Sophie was rocking a very different look in Monday night's episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County. The 14-year-old sported some unusually-heavy makeup as she talked about her idea of the family's new dream home with her mom and her 11-year-old twin sisters Stella and Adeline.
Now that Sophie is already taller than her mama, has she really morphed into a young woman right before our very eyes? Not quite.
Shannon explained Sophie's dramatic makeover in her latest blog on Bravotv.com. "The twins do not wear makeup and Sophie sometimes wears mascara, but that is all. When I had the conversation with my daughters about moving, Sophie had just arrived home from the dress rehearsal of her school play where they applied very heavy makeup," the RHOC mom wrote. "Just want to be clear that my child does not go out in public (or at home for that matter ) looking like she’s in her 20s!"
Shannon also fired back at critics that didn't know the whole story on Twitter Monday night, telling them to not "judge" her.
Sophie was even "horrified" to see herself wearing that heavy makeup on camera, according to Shannon. "She had no time to take it off," Shannon tweeted. "Just protecting her!"
If you follow Shannon on Instagram, you may have seen that she previously documented Sophie's temporary makeover in March when she was on her way to portray Cinderella's stepmother in her school play.
Shannon shared a photo of Sophie's look for the show's final performance last spring on Tuesday.
Sophie may not be donning some mature makeup on the regular yet, but she is getting closer to adulthood. The teen graduated eighth grade last month and will be entering high school in the fall.
