Is Shep Rose Ready to Reopen His Charleston Restaurant?
The #SouthernCharm stud offers an update on Palace Hotel following a fire earlier this year.
Back in January, Shep Rose's Charleston restaurant Palace Hotel made headlines after a fire broke out at the eatery. The damage was caused after a fire, which injured one person, started in the apartment above the establishment. And several months later, Shep is still trying to put the pieces back together, describing the aftermath of that fire "a real boondoggle."
"Well, I wish I could say we'd be open in three months," he told The Daily Dish, "but it could be six months or eight months because everything's up to code and you got to get inspected again and you got to get built again. And there's a different owner. It's a real boondoggle."
With no real timeline on when the Palace Hotel will be up and running again, the Southern Charm restaurateur has been spending his nights elsewhere. "Yeah, it's very frustrating because no one can tell you a definitive answer. But, so I just recalibrated my late-night schedule. I go to different bars now. I'd like to put money in my own pocket, but I don't think I can right now."
With Shep trying to get the Palace Hotel back in working order these days, viewers also can watch him mend his friendship with Craig Conover this season on Southern Charm, which airs Mondays at 9/8c.
