“He finished treatment a few months ago and getting stronger every day,” she answered on Instagram, according to screengrabs reported by The Sun. “He’s staying positive! We are praying he kicked cancer’s ass but we don’t know yet.”

When he confirmed his diagnosis back in February, he told PEOPLE he was undergoing a dual treatment of chemotherapy and radiation. “The process is the real bad part,” Simon said at the time. “It basically attacks all of your organs. You’re like poisoned. It’s been killing me. If I had a choice, I probably wouldn’t have done chemo and radiation at the same time, but that’s what they recommended. It’s like hitting your head with a hammer and pouring gas on yourself. I was ready to end it the other day, the symptoms were so bad. It’s almost [worse] than the cancer.”

Tamra and Simon divorced in 2011 after 13 years of marriage. Together they are parents to three kids: Spencer, Sidney and Sophia; Tamra also has a son, Ryan Vieth, from a previous marriage.

Tamra confirmed her exit from RHOC earlier this year and later noted that Simon's diagnosis played a part in that decision.

“It made me reevaluate my life,” she said in an interview with PEOPLE. “The reality of it is, after Eddie’s heart condition and now Simon with cancer, it’s just very hard for me to want to go on a show where people are screaming and yelling and arguing about things that don’t even matter. They’ve taught me that life is precious, and you don’t get that time back.”
