Sonja Morgan Clears the Air About Her Divorce: "It Was Painful for Both of Us"
The RHONY fashionista reflects on her split from her husband, John Adams Morgan.
Sonja Morgan's former marriage to John Adams Morgan has at times been a conversation among The Real Housewives of New York City crew, as the Big Apple fashionista has often reminisced about her life with her ex and his famous family. Most recently, their divorce became a highly emotional topic when Sonja faced off against Dorinda Medley on Season 10 of RHONY (which you can relive in the clip above).
The heated moment included the two women discussing and comparing the end of their marriages, including allegations that Sonja's husband left her and that their relationship ended "because people were f--king around." Sonja responded to it by noting, "My husband didn't leave me, I left my husband."
For those less familiar with their pasts, Sonja and her ex were married from 1998 to 2006; together they have a teenage daughter. In the clip, Dorinda discusses her second marriage to Richard Medley, who died in 2011.
Now, Sonja is shedding more light on their split in an interview with The Daily Beast — and revealing a new detail from that time in her life.
“My breakup is pretty boring. We were in love and then we broke up. There was no drama," Sonja noted. "We still love each other and it was painful for both of us.”
