Now Sophie is all moved in to her new crib with sons Harry and Finn, and she recently gave an update on the move on her YouTube channel. "Everything's really come together really quickly," Sophie said, thanking her movers and cleaners for helping her vacate her old place and make her new house a home.
Sophie revealed that she moved from an eight-bedroom house into one with five bedrooms, so she estimates that she got rid of about half of the contents of each moving box, selling furniture and donating toys to a children's charity shop. In another YouTube video showing Sophie's design process for her new abode, she said that her master bedroom is "a big downsize." But Sophie noted that she "can live with it." "I'm not a spoiled brat," she joked.
In that video, Sophie, who works as an interior designer, also said that the main color of the home will be a "warm gray." "It's got a few pink undertones in it because if you go for really plain gray, it's really cold and not cozy," she described.
She showed how she went about choosing a carpet for the pad, seeing how samples looked around the house and showing off Finn's bedroom and the master bedroom's "beautiful conservatory" along the way. Sophie settled on a carpet with darker gray, almost brown undertones that she described as "really warm, really soft." "I think it will be really nice with the children running around with their feet," she said. "The texture's really soft. It's not gonna pull when the cats claw it, and hopefully, it won't mark too much with muddy feet."
The Ladies of London mom has also given her Instagram followers a few sneak peeks of her new home before and after the move-in.
Sophie said that she was most concerned about her children during the move, especially since their father, Alex Stanbury, would not be living with them after the couple decided to get a divorce. "I really wanted to make this a new adventure for them. It's a big change in their lives. We're not living in a house with their daddy, and this had to be somewhere really special and really safe for them to feel really happy and really secure," Sophie explained. "So it was very important for me to do the rooms with them. So they helped me choose the paint color, even though, obviously I had the final say. They were able to bring over all the things that they wanted to bring over. So we went through a list of what was most important to them and then a wish list of things that they'd really like to have that they didn't have at the moment."
The Real Housewives of Cheshire's Missé Beqiri was the first person to visit Sophie in her new abode. "We were introduced by mutual friends, and she's got a little boy the same age as Finn," Sophie said. "And so, we had a really fun playdate here. All the children were running around, the sun was shining, so the boys were on the trampoline. We cooked them a lovely lunch and had a great playdate. And the mummies had a white wine spritzer and caught up on all things new."
Though the move was stressful, Sophie said that she's happy to be in a place that she can finally call her own. "I'm now really happy, and I actually feel like I'm home. I'm finally in my own house with my own things with my children," she said. "And I can make this new chapter really count."
