There's Another Southern Charm Baby on the Way
#SouthernCharm regular Jennifer Snowden is pregnant with her first child.
Charleston is about to welcome another bundle of joy. Southern Charm regular Jennifer Snowden is pregnant with her first child, The Daily Dish has confirmed. "Although it was a complete surprise, we are thrilled," Jennifer told The Daily Dish via email.
Jennifer recently revealed her baby bump on Instagram, and she's definitely glowing in this pic.
It'll be a boy for Jennifer and her boyfriend Lee, who had been one of her best friends for about 10 years before they began dating. "I am ecstatic about having a boy. I absolutely LOVE little boys, always have, starting with my youngest brother Gray's birth when I was 11," she gushed. "I think I've kind of been a mom in my own eyes since then, so this has been a long time coming!"
Jennifer is due to give birth in late September, but she and Lee have already decided on a name for their bouncing baby boy: James. "We're naming him James after his grandfather and [his father's birth name]. His will be James III, which I think Lee takes a lot of pride in and is sweet to see," she said. "The baby is also due on Lee's father's birthday; Lee's father is deceased, thus making it a very special due date indeed.
Part of the prep for bringing home baby for Jennifer has also included decorating his nursery with some adorable animal paintings that she created herself and recently showed off on Instagram. "Honestly, I'm just trying to read as much as I can, eat well, sleep well, and generally be happy and healthy," Jennifer said of getting ready for her little one.
However, pregnancy has had its challenges for Jennifer. She revealed on Twitter earlier this month that her baby was diagnosed with a brain encephalocele, which is a neural tube defect that can affect various parts of the brain, and asked her followers to pray for her son.
Jennifer said there's no way of knowing the severity of this condition or how it will affect the baby while he is still in utero, but babies that are carried to term with brain encephaloceles require pediatric neurosurgery just days after birth. "Although the future is to a degree uncertain for our baby, I have a pure sense of weightlessness about the stresses or fear of his future and I attribute that to faith and prayer alone," she told The Daily Dish. "One thing I do know is that he has one, a future, because of my decision to keep the little guy around and I couldn't be more thrilled to meet him, no matter what mountains we will have to climb together."
Luckily, Jennifer has the support of her good friend Kathryn C. Dennis, who has two children of her own, 2-year-old daughter Kensington and a nearly-six-month-old son St. Julien. "Her advice has been to enjoy it, the whole thing: being pregnant and then being a mom as it's the most rewarding relationship you'll ever have. That part I'm especially excited about," she said, adding that she's sure James, Kensie, and St. Julien will all play together after he's born.
Kathryn is sticking by Jennifer after last Monday night's explosive episode of Southern Charm. Get a glimpse of what she has to say about the situation in the upcoming episode, below.
