Southern Charm friends J.D. Madison and Elizabeth Madison have separated, J.D. shared in the Season 5 premiere on Thursday. "Technically, we've been separated for a couple months now," J.D. told Thomas Ravenel during the episode. "I don't like to talk about it much until I know what we're doing, but being in a situation where a large amount of stress hit our family, a lot of the differences that we had became very apparent, and I didn't feel the support that I should have."

How to Watch

J.D. revealed that he had moved out of the home he shared with Elizabeth and their four children and into the guest house. He also said that both he and Elizabeth had stopped wearing their wedding rings.

J.D. confirmed in a tweet posted on March 18 that he and Elizabeth are still separated. "Liz & I have a great relationship. The rumors about divorce are just ridiculous," he tweeted. "We are separated & doing what is best for our family."

Elizabeth also asked Southern Charm fans to respect their family's privacy as they go through this difficult time. "Thank you for everyone’s good thoughts & well wishes. @JDMadisonSC & I are the very proud parents of 4 beautiful children with whom deserve our love & protection," she tweeted on March 26. "For this reason we are committed to keeping our relationship matters private."
