Your First Look at the Southern Charm Reunion

There was one person noticeably absent from Southern Charm Season 3 reunion: Patricia Altschul. The Charleston matriarch didn't join the cast, but that doesn't mean she missed the event — instead she probably watched it from the comfort of her beautifully-decorated home. And now we know how she felt about the drama, courtesy of Shep Rose.

How to Watch

"Well look, you know there's no love lost between Patricia and Kathryn, are we agreed on that? OK, so you know, I don't understand why it's so gotten to the point where it is. You know what I said to somebody, watching a reunion is like watching a political debate — if you like a candidate, you're going to see exactly what you want to see and you're going to think that they did fine. And that the other person, you didn't like is an asshole. So that's how I see it," Shep told The Daily Dish. "So Patricia thought that Kathryn seems agitated and a lot of people on Twitter did, but you know that's fine. I just can't tell anymore. I think Patricia was happy with it. She's most happy not to be involved. She's a little too dignified to get in the mix with us all. She loves the show."

By sitting out the reunion, Patricia avoided any of the drama that tends to come with the emotional season-ending special. But everyone else had some explaining to do — including Shep, who spent part of the sit-down discussing the time he was taken into police custody after getting high on mushrooms. "Andy kind of started with me, he kind of goes around the room and he started with me, which I'm happy to talk to anyone about myself. It's my favorite subject," he said. "Of course, the mushrooms story, I was so nervous about that. I prefaced my mom and dad was like look, of course they're like hand in their hands I'm sure, but I was like, 'I've got to be honest.' I don't think anyone's gotten anywhere by being too cautious or anything. I was like, 'It's a really funny story.' I was like mushrooms grow in the earth; it's natural. And then I thought to myself Seth Rogen and those guys openly talk about smoking weed all day, everyday and no one seems to care about that — not that I'm in their league or anything, but I thought screw it [and] tell a funny story. The Twitter reaction was so fun. I'm definitely not a choir boy, that's for sure. I don't think that anybody thought that in the first place."

Shep's love life was also dissected as the cast reflected on Season 3. The Charleston bachelor admits that he's not sure he can even elaborate on the topic any more, even if interest remains high. "I don't know, I mean I'm used to it by now. I'm almost getting to the point where I don't have any new things to say," he said, with a laugh. "But I'm happy to talk about anything. I mean I'd love to meet someone. Part of the reason I'm out, a lot of the reasons I'm out and having fun all the time is in hopes of meeting someone, but I'm willing to roll with all the punches."
